Forcing yourself on someone isn’t something good for anyone to do. This is because you can hurt yourself gravely by doing it.

In this article, I’m going to talk about what it means to force yourself on someone, how to know you are forcing yourself on someone and how to stop it.

So, before I waste time let me share with you what it means by forcing yourself on someone.

Forcing yourself on someone is the act of making someone love you by force using tactics that are inappropriate like blackmailing and manipulating. Also, it can be that you are holding onto someone you have no feelings for, that is forcing yourself to someone.

Pushing someone to love you yet he/she doesn’t want to because he/she has no feelings for you is forcing yourself to him or her.

The moment you see yourself start using ways that are unhealthy by making someone love you then you are forcing yourself to him or her.

If push someone to love you yet he or she doesn’t want to then you are forcing yourself on him or her.

Forcing yourself on someone is something unhealthy.

This can result in an unhealthy relationship. So, there is no need to force yourself to someone who doesn’t want to have you in his or her life.

You better be in a relationship with someone willing to accommodate you in his or her life.

With this kind of person, you will have a chance to build a relationship that actually works.

Anyway, it can be hard to realize it by yourself if you are forcing yourself to someone if you have no idea of the aspects that will help you realize that.

How do you know if you are forcing yourself on someone?

So, I’m going to share with you things that will help you to know if you are forcing yourself on someone.

These will be the exact signs that will help you know if you are forcing yourself on someone.

These are the signs that you are forcing yourself on someone;

1. When you use inappropriate ways to keep them around then you are forcing yourself on them.

The moment you find yourself going to the extent of using ways like; manipulation, blackmailing and lying to keep them around then this shows that you are forcing yourself on them.

Deep down you know that if it was not for manipulating or blackmailing him or her he wouldn’t have been around you at all.

Also, you may not be using manipulation but if something deep within you feels that that person is around you because of something that you made up and not on his or her own free will then that is a sign that you are forcing yourself on him or her.

So, when a person doesn’t want to be around you, spend time with you; this means that he or she doesn’t have feelings for you.

He or she doesn’t love you. You know that, but if you keep pushing them to have time for you then you are forcing yourself to him or her.

2. When He or she doesn’t want you around but you keep finding a reason to stick around this is a sign that you are forcing yourself to him or her.

When someone doesn’t want you around that is a clear message that you are not wanted.

The moment you don’t want to accept the fact that you are not wanted and you go ahead and come up with a reason to stick around him or her then you are forcing yourself to him or her.

When deep down your heart you feel that you are around someone because of a reason other than love and being wanted to stick then this is clear that you are forcing yourself on someone.

If you are around someone because you feel that you are wanted, loved, and cared for without any other exterior motive to keep you around him or her then this shows love.

The opposite of that isn’t love.

3. When someone made it clear that he or she doesn’t love you but you keep telling yourself he/she does, this is a sign that you are forcing yourself to him or her.

If you have been fighting for someone to love you for a while and he or she made it clear to you that he or she doesn’t love you, when you keep telling yourself he or she loves you and keep moving further persuading him or her then you are forcing yourself to him or her.

I don’t mean that if someone says he or she doesn’t love you, you have to give up but the moment you force it to be positive yet it’s not then you are in denial.

When you don’t accept the fact that someone doesn’t love you and yet everything shows that he or she doesn’t love you then you are trying to force yourself to him or her.

Once someone has made it clear to you by using actions and words that he or she doesn’t love you, then get in your head that that relationship can’t happen.

The moment you force the situation to be positive yet it’s negative that isn’t being optimistic at all. You are forcing yourself to someone.

4. When you take the advantage of someone to make him or her love you then this is a sign that you are forcing yourself on him or her.

This is another sign that will tell you that you are forcing yourself on someone.

You clearly know when you take advantage of someone.

Taking advantage of someone to make him or her fall in love with you is going for someone at the moment when you know his or her emotions are unstable.

For instance, he or she is hurt by his or her partner and they are in a huge fight.

You go to him or her when he or she is mad and you completely rely on his or her side by contributing how back his or her partner is and how you can be better than that.

This will make him or her give in to you easily because he or she is in a bad emotional state.

When someone is hurt or sad he or she can’t make the right decisions. He or she will make haste decisions.

You clearly know that if it wasn’t for the condition he or she is in he or she wouldn’t have said yes to you.

If this is the case then this is a clear sign that you are forcing yourself on someone. This kind of relationship will never last.

5. When you have no feelings for someone and yet you keep holding onto him or her, this is a sign that you are forcing yourself on him or her.

Forcing yourself on someone doesn’t have to be you making your way to someone to love you,  but it can also be you holding onto someone you have no feelings for.

The moment you have no feelings for someone and you keep forcing yourself to stay with him or her then this is clear that you are forcing yourself to him or her.

Love has to be automatic. You can’t force feelings for someone yet they don’t exist.

If you have no feelings for someone then this means it will be impossible for you to love him or her.

So, when this is the case, and you keep on holding onto him or her then this shows that you are forcing yourself on him or her.

How to stop forcing yourself on someone.

Forcing yourself on someone will never make you have a successful relationship.

The best relationship is the one that happens automatically because the two of you have feelings for each other and are willing to make it happen.

So, if forcing yourself on someone can result in a toxic relationship then we have to find a way of how to stop forcing ourselves on someone.

This is how to stop forcing yourself on someone;

1. Learn to accept what you can’t have.

You have to accept if you can’t have someone who doesn’t have feelings for you.

You can’t make someone feel the same way you feel for him or her. No matter how much you want to be loved if someone doesn’t feel you it will never happen.

Accept the things you can’t have in life. Learn to accept what you can’t have. Don’t be in denial.

This is the way you will be able to stop yourself from forcing yourself on someone.

2. Be around someone who wants you to be.

If you want to have a shot at stopping forcing yourself on someone is to stop being around someone who doesn’t want you.

Don’t be around someone who doesn’t appreciate your presence and value your time.

This is the only way you can stop seeking someone’s attention and forcing yourself to please someone.

When you are around a person who doesn’t want you this is obviously you will come up with a way for him or her to recognize your presence.

By doing this you will be forcing yourself to someone who doesn’t love you.

So, the only way to stop this is to be away from someone who doesn’t what you around.

3. Don’t avail yourself to someone when you know he or she will have no alternative but to let you.

If you want to stop forcing yourself on someone then you have to stop taking advantage of him or her.

For instance, if you know someone is drunk, he or she isn’t in the right shape of mind.

So, don’t go ahead and make him or her do something that you want because he or she isn’t in the correct shape of mind.

As you know drunk people, don’t make the right decisions. There is a percentage of alcohol that influences the decisions they make.

The other situation is that when someone is totally in need. When someone needs something from you and he or she can’t find it from someone else then you can take advantage of this situation to make him or her give you what you want.

He or she knows that if he or she won’t give you what you want you will end up denying him or her what he or she wants.

So, if you want to stop forcing yourself on someone then don’t take advantage of situations to get what you want.

4. Keep in mind that you will meet someone better in future.

If you keep hoping that in future you will meet someone incredible then you will eventually stop forcing yourself to someone who doesn’t love you.

When you have such a mindset you will never be forcing things on anyone. You will gladly walk away from someone who pushes you away without complaining.

This will happen because you are optimistic that you will meet someone better in the future.

Being optimistic about the future sometimes gives you the courage to walk away from things that you can’t have right now. It will also make you avoid being desperate.

Desperate is what makes people insist on wanting someone too bad that they can’t have.

5. Always be honest about what you feel for someone.

When you know that you don’t have feelings for someone and you know that the relationship between the two of you will never work out then there is no need to lie.

Don’t lie to yourself that things will get better yet they are completely ruined.

Be honest about what you feel for someone.

If you have no feelings for him or her, be open enough to let him or her know.

You have to know that relationship will never work when two people have no feelings for each other.

So, don’t force yourself to stick around when you feel the relationship can’t work.

When you become honest about what you feel for someone then you will be able to stop forcing yourself on someone who doesn’t love you.

Lastly…

The moment someone doesn’t want you in his or her life then walk away. Walking away from him or her will give you a better chance of meeting someone else who is better than him or her.

If someone is pushing you away constantly this is a sign that he or she doesn’t want you around.
